| Souvenir was made with thick red iron oxide powder in the glassed-over box provided by the Frameworks project of Manly Art Gallery, so that viewers see themselves and the world around them reflected in the red background. People can see that there is nothing there but their own reflection over hand-rubbed red earth. It is derived from Memento, a larger work using red oxide and a glassed-in room in the Canberra National Sculpture Forum in 1998. | ||||||||||||||
